A.           Bilangan berpangkat (eksponen)
Jika a bilangan real dan n bilanagn bulat positif, maka perangkat n dari a ditulis  di denifikasikan sebagai berikut.

 dibaca a dan pangkat n,dengan a merupakan bilangan pokok atau dasar dan n disebut pagkat atau eksponen
